When the CCA+ program starts, the main window appears:

It contains three main parts:
Menu: The functions of the program are accessed through the menu bar. The available functions are shown in black, while the not available ones are greyed. (e.g. Opening a data matrix will not allow the user to add a Gaussian function to the matrix, thus it will be grayed.)
The spectrum window displays the highlighted and/or selected spectra. The coordinate system ranges are set automatically. Depending on the cursor mode (see "Cursor" under the "Options" menu), the data value assigned to the actual cursor position can be displayed in the top right corner of the spectrum window.
The item list contains the spectrum or component items of a data matrix or a CD spectrum. When a data set is opened, the components of the data file (e.g. spectrum, result text) are displayed in the component list. In the first column of the list a special symbol is displayed showing the type of data and the selected state of graphical display:
ý = Text data, can’t be selected for graphical display, click twice on it to display it.
¨ = numeric data, not selected.
þ = numeric data, selected for graphical display
Right to the data type symbol, you will see the colour of the component curve(s) on the graphical display. Either a mouse click on the symbol in the first coloumn or the “SPACE” bar can toggle the selected state of the item. The last field contains the identification (e.g. the name of the spectrum) and parameters (e.g. intensity multiplier) of the item.
