• experimental molecular spectroscopy: UV photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), laser spectroscopic methods (LIF, DFS, REMPI, ZEKE, MATI), infrared spectroscopy, matrix isolation, structure elucidation methods

 
• theoretical molecular spectroscopy: calculation of high-quality potential energy surfaces by ab initio methods, calculation of rovibrational spectra

 
• synthetic organometallic chemistry: inert atmospheric techniques to prepare main group and transition metal organics
