ISIAME’08 is to be held in Budapest (Hungary) at the University Congress Center of Eötvös Loránd University, near the bank of the Danube River on the Buda side of the city, during the third week of August, 2008.

Budapest

Budapest, the Capital of Hungary is often called the " Pearl of the Danube River " by proud citizens. The 28 km stretch of the river divides the city into hilly Buda and flat Pest, once separate cities, and offers many panoramic, historic and cultural attractions.

Budapest, with today's population over 1.7 million representing almost 20% of Hungary's population is undoubtedly the center of most political, business and cultural activities. In the city where Celts lived 2000 years ago, one finds ruins of Roman amphitheatres hidden between modern buildings as well as various architectural styles and relics exposed or built into modern constructions. Alongside the remnants of Hungary's 1100 year old past, the streets and museums of Budapest are host to European masterpieces of universal significance.

Budapest's cultural life is renowned all over the world. The city has more than twenty theatres covering all aspects of performing arts. There is great musical life in the capital, offering first class concerts daily. The city offers a lot to explore. Budapest is also a city of famous spas. The climate of Budapest is continental, cold in winter, hot during summer. The weather in August is usually pleasant with temperatures ranging from 15 ºC at night to 26 ºC at midday. However, fall may already begin at the last week, with a sudden drop of the temperature. Hungary , deeply involved in tourism, offers a wide variety of accommodation, drinks and meals. Hopefully, you will enjoy your stay and get a good impression of Hungary and the Hungarian people you meet.
